3 Of A Kind
Apparently, the modern workplace wants everyone to think outside the box, as long as their résumé fits neatly inside one. Creative strategist? Engineer? Product leader? AI specialist? Choose one. The dropdown menu is getting impatient. But here’s the irony: Companies increasingly need people who connect disciplines, challenge assumptions, and solve problems nobody thought to assign to a department. Yet we still evaluate talent through titles that barely describe the work. I’ve spent much of my career crossing those boundaries. The interesting discoveries usually happen between them. So I’m curious: Have you ever been considered too experienced, too unconventional, or too difficult to categorize for a role you knew you could do? Maybe the problem isn’t the candidate. Maybe it’s the box.
